This is the Tufts China Care fundraising sale hosted by the Education Team. We plan to sell hot chocolate. All the money collected will be donated to OneSky, an organization for international adoption. We'll abide by all the food safety measures when making the hot chocolate. All undergraduate/graduate students are welcome to attend fitness classes led by trained student instructors! Classes are free and open to all levels of experience. Please come to the Hill Hall Aerobics Room (entrance is at the back of Hill Hall, up the stairs to the right of the mail room) five minutes prior to class start time. Come visit our table in the CC on Friday, November 15th from 12-3pm to do a quick cheek swab to join Gift of Life's national bone marrow registry! Joining this registry makes you available to be matched with someone with blood cancer and help by donating stem cells through a blood donation (similar to donating plasma). We are collaborating with GOL because mixed individuals have the lowest chance of getting matched to a bone marrow donor as the genetic makeups are more unique to find. Join us for an important discussion with leading activist and author Dr. Fania E. Davis. Tickets available at tuftstickets.com Fania E. Davis is a leading international voice on the intersection of racial and restorative justice. She is a long-time social justice activist, civil rights trial attorney, author, and educator with a PhD in Indigenous Knowledge. Davis came of age in Birmingham, Alabama during the social ferment of the civil rights era. These formative years, particularly the murder of two close childhood friends in the 1963 Sunday School bombing, crystallized within Fania an enduring commitment to social transformation. For the next decades, she was active in the Civil Rights, Black liberation, women’s, prisoners’, peace, anti-racial violence, economic justice and anti-apartheid movements. Apprenticing with African indigenous healers catalyzed Fania’s search for a healing justice, ultimately leading her to become the Founding Director of Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth and Co-Founding Board Member of the National Association of Community and Restorative Justice. Her numerous honors include the Lifetime Achievement award for excellence in Restorative Justice, the Black Feminist Shapeshifters and Waymakers’ award, the Tikkun (Repair the World) award, the Ella Jo Baker Human Rights award, and the Ebony POWER 100 award. The Los Angeles Times named her a New Civil Rights Leader of the 21st Century. She recently received the Open Society Foundations Justice Rising Award recognizing 16 Black movement leaders working towards racial justice in the United States. Among Davis’ publications is the Little Book of Race and Restorative Justice: Black Lives, Justice, and U.S. Social Transformation. Additionally, come see a keynote address by Dr. Marissa Marko Lee, a postdoctoral scholar at the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Producthon is a weekend-long design challenge, combining an ideathon and hackathon, where participants will design an app to address a critical issue.

Participants will explore all stages of product development: from problem discovery to solution design, with office hours to help along the way.

If these questions spark your interest, you should come to this year's Death Cafe at the Interfaith Center (58 Winthrop St) on Friday, Novemeber 15 from 6-8pm.
At a Death Cafe, people-- often strangers-- gather to share a meal, eat cake, and discuss our different ideas surrounding death. Our goal is to open the door for conversations about death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. Rather than grief support or a counseling session, these directed discussions of death have no agenda or objectives, and only hope to explore our thoughts and ideas about death and dying.
