Student Life invites you to join us for Circle Up Film Screening and Talk Back with two pioneers in the restorative practices.
After the brutal slaying of her teenage son, Janet Connors reaches out to her son's killer to offer a chance at forgiveness. They team up with a team group of mothers of murdered children including Clarissa Turner to help young people in their community break the chain of violence and revenge. Through the use of Indigenous practices such as circles, these mothers help to reshape how individuals, organizations and institutions think about healing after harm. Circle Up is a call to action to reframe how crime and punishment is approached through the lens of restorative practices, compassion, and love. Please join us for a screening and talk back with Janet Connors and Clarissa Turner.
Tickets available for undergraduate and graduate students at TuftsTickets.com. Faculty and Staff should contact the Office for Student Life for tickets.

We'll be volunteering at the ReStore (Not an outdoor build site). Here is an explanation of what the ReStore is and what we'll be doing, from one of our contacts at Habitat:
"We sell used and new merchandise to fund our building projects. Last year we were able to keep 1.7 million pounds of product from landfills and keep items affordable. If you were to bring a group to the store, you and your team would receive, process, and merchandise items as they are donated. You might also set up new displays, organize the book sections, help customers load and unload their cars, smash unused product so it fits in our dumpster." On Sunday, many student-led organizations will join the community on the Tufts Academic Quad. This is an opportunity to show the community not only what our club is about, but to conduct some fun outdoor chemistry experiments! Our goal is to get the community engaged and excited in science, and reaffirm our community-oriented position as a club and chapter of the American Chemical Society.
