Join COFFEE for a field trip to Salem with a tour by our very own Nora Bond. We'll be exploring the true histories of the Salem Witch Trials, Salem's Quaker past, and the founding of the Satanic Temple. Explore religion and politics through the lens of one of the most famous towns in America.

Join a conversation with economist, conservative thought leader and author, Oren Cass. Cass is the founder and chief economist at American Compass, a conservative think tank whose mission is to restore an economic consensus that emphasizes the importance of family, community, and industry to the nation’s liberty and prosperity.
Cass is a contributing opinion writer for the Financial Times and the New York Times, and he has written about climate change for publications including the Wall Street Journal and Foreign Affairs, testified before seven congressional committees, and appeared on national and international media including NPR and the BBC. He was a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, where his work on strengthening the labor market addressed issues ranging from the social safety net and environmental regulation to trade and immigration to education and organized labor. He is the author of The Once and Future Worker: A Vision for the Renewal of Work in America.
Cass previously worked as a management consultant in Bain & Company’s Boston and Delhi offices, while earning his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. While still in law school, Cass became Domestic Policy Director for Governor Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, editing and producing the campaign’s “jobs book” and developing its domestic policy strategy, proposals, and research. This event is cosponsored by The Tufts Federalist Society and the Tufts Republicans.
