Description
Every year SURGE hosts a China-US Symposium, where we invite academic experts and business professionals to discuss pertinent issues within the Sino-US bilateral relationship and China's role on the international stage as a whole. As sustainability concerns have come to the forefront of both international and Chinese politics in recent years, our symposium's theme this year will be focusing on environmental issues China is facing internationally and domestically. We will have three panels: International Environmental Governance, The Green Economy, and Ecologies and Inequalities. Each panel will respectively discuss the state of China's international environmental leadership, the nation's economic and technological advances on sustainability, as well as its domestic ecological concerns and their intersection with social inequalities. Our symposium will end with a catered dinner and a networking hour.
