Food Connects: A Farm-to-Table Experience
- LocationJoyce Cummings Center Ballrooms
Description
Food Connects is designed to walk participants through the full food cycle, from soil to plate. You'll hear directly from farmers, explore the realities of animal agriculture, get up close with locally sourced ingredients, and learn how food waste can be tackled through creative practices like gleaning.
The day kicks off with an interactive experience (11:00 am – 1:00 pm), where you’ll move through a series of engaging, educational stations that trace the journey of food, from how it’s grown and raised, to how it’s processed, distributed, consumed, and (sometimes) wasted.
In the afternoon, join us for a thought-provoking conversation between a representative from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy and food systems leader Jennifer Hashley from the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project. Then stick around for roundtable discussions where you can share your thoughts and dig deeper, all while enjoying locally sourced tastings curated by Tufts Dining Services.
