Description
Please join us for our Tisch Scholars capstone event "Language Access Matters: Empowering an inclusive democracy" on Friday, April 11th at 6pm at Sophia Gordon Multipurpose Room (15 Talbot Ave, Medford, MA 02155). Tisch Scholars is a leadership development program through The Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life that combines academic coursework, community-based learning, and critical reflection.
This event aims to explore barriers in education, medical, and legal services from experts in the field through the lens of language justice. It features a panel and discussion with Josephine Chen, a staff attorney from the Asian Outreach Unit of Greater Boston Legal Services, Kella Merlain-Moffatt, the Associate Director of the Tufts University Africana Center, and Elida Acuña, the Senior Director of the Interpreter Services Department and The Office of the Patient Advocate at Neighborhood Health Center.
We will also share more about our language access community resource guide. Dinner will be catered from Sugar & Spice!
