Join a special three-day symposium from February 27 - March 1, 2025. "Democracy on the Brink" will bring together scholars, practitioners and students to grapple with the challenges and opportunities that democracy faces with the global expansion of authoritarianism, populism and extremism. Discussions will focus on critical issues like modern threats to democracy, global comparisons, justice movements under authoritarian rule, criminal justice, capitalism, and more. Thursday and Saturday events will be located in the ASEAN Auditorium of the Cabot Intercultural Center at 170 Packard Avenue in Medford; Friday events will be located in Breed Memorial Hall at 51 Winthrop Street in Medford. The symposium is hosted by Tisch College's Initiative for Global Leadership (IGL) and the College Freedom Forum of the Human Rights Foundation. Register Now!

All undergraduate/graduate students are welcome to attend fitness classes led by trained student instructors! Classes are free and open to all levels of experience. Please come to the Hill Hall Aerobics Room (entrance is at the back of Hill Hall, up the stairs to the right of the mail room) five minutes prior to class start time. Join us for Chai and Samosas with Tufts Chaplaincy on Friday, February 28, 3.00pm – 4.00pm, in the Asian American Center (Start House, 17 Latin Way - across from Dewick and the campus book store). The Muslim Chaplain Khan Shairani, The Hindu Graduate Intern Prakruthi Ramesh, and the Buddhist Chaplain Mahayaye Vineetha welcome students from all backgrounds to join them for Chai and Samosas and a chance to learn about what brought them to Tufts. Students can enjoy a bite to eat, spend some time with them and learn more about staff from Asia and their experiences in the United States.
