26.2 for the Brown and Blue

15 runners competed for the Tufts Marathon Team at the 129th Boston Marathon

With many long hours of training under their belts, a beautiful spring day at the ready, and fans cheering them on, 15 runners competed for the Tufts Marathon Team at the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21, in support of the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy’s groundbreaking research on nutrition and health

Coached by Don Megerle, the team trekked the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boylston Street, and at mile nine on the route, Tufts Marathon Team runners were able to take a moment during the race to be greeted and embraced by Megerle and enthusiastic Tufts Marathon Team fans.

The Tufts Marathon Team runners in the 2025 Boston Marathon were: Kemp Bassett; Marlies Braade; Tufts football head coach Jay Civetti; Menno de Vreeze; Rebecca Dinsmore, E25; Andrew Fisher, E25; Grace Frerichs; Lauren Marandett; Evan Marcet, 2G, Ph.D. student in biomedical engineering; Robert O’Donnell; Dylan Patel, E25; Nika Renshaw, A25; Julia Rosenberg, E25; Caroline Walsh, A25; and Anthony Yu, A25.
