Gorelik, Sharda Receive All-American Honors in Men's Tennis

MEDFORD - Senior co-captain Isaac Gorelik (pictured, right) and junior Rishabh Sharda (pictured, left) of the Tufts University men's tennis team have been named as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Americans for the 2021-22 season.

They are two of the 28 individuals announced as singles All-Americans for Division III. Gorelik is a singles All-American for the second staight year, and Sharda is a first-time honoree.

The All-American title is given to student-athletes who are a top-eight seed in the NCAA Singles Tournament, win one round at the NCAA Singles Tournament, finish in the top 20 in the final ITA singles rankings, win the ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA Cup.

Gorelik advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Singles Championship as an unseeded player this spring. He finished the year as the #3 player in the ITA singles rankings. Sharda was ranked #17 in the final ITA Rankings for singles to earn his All-American honor.

Together they helped lead head coach Karl Gregor's Jumbo team to the best season in program history. Tufts finished 20-3 overall including 9-1 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) to earn a best-ever #2 seed in the conference tournament. There they advanced to the championship match for the second straight year. Tufts earned its first NCAA team berth since 2004 and played into the "Final Four" for the first time. The Jumbos were ranked #4 in the final ITA national poll.
