Sheridan Earns Sailing Honorable Mention All-American Accolade

MEDFORD - The Intercollegiate Sailing Association of North America (ICSA) recently announced the 2022 All-America teams and Tufts University senior Ann Sheridan was one of the Honorable Mention All-American Crews.

Paired with senior skipper Ansgar Jordan, Sheridan helped the Jumbo co-ed team enjoy national success during the 2022 spring season. The Jumbos qualified for both the ICSA co-ed national championship regattas in team racing and fleet racing. She was also a New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) All-Conference selection.

After helping Tufts to a 13th-place finish at the national team racing championship in New Orleans, Sheridan and Jordan were fourth in B division at the ICSA fleet racing western semifinals later in the week. That helped Tufts reach the national finals, where the pair was eighth in B's. Tufts finished ninth overall nationally, which was their best showing since 2015 when they were also ninth.

At the NEISA Team Racing Championship April 9-10, Sheridan helped the Jumbos place fifth out of 12 teams and qualify for the national championshp in the event. Sheridan and Jordan were ninth in B division at the NEISA Fleet Race Championship April 30-May 1, where Tufts also qualified nationally.

During the regular-season the Jordan-Sheridan team were also sixth in B division at the Boston Dingy Club Cup Challenge and were together for nine of 15 races leading to a second-place B division finish at the Thompson Trophy. They were also together for Tufts wins at the Southern New England Team Race and the Wood Trophy Team Race.
