Stargazing Saturn Party

Friday, September 19, 2025 8:00–9:00 PM
  • Location
    Academic Quad (Jumbo the Elephant)

Description

Come spend an evening under the stars as we journey from the depths of spacetime to the beauty of our own solar system. We’ll start by diving into the mystery of black holes merging — collisions so powerful they send ripples through the fabric of spacetime itself. These waves, first predicted by Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity, are now being detected a century later, confirming one of science’s boldest ideas.

After exploring the extremes of the universe, we’ll turn our telescopes to something closer to home: the breathtaking sight of Saturn and its iconic rings.

Whether you’re fascinated by cosmic mysteries or simply want to see Saturn with your own eyes, this night is for you. No prior astronomy experience needed — just curiosity and wonder.
