All drawing supplies will be provided along with a small goodie bag. Drinks and light snacks will be available! RSVP is required as modeling can be vulnerable and we want to create a safe space!

Nowruz, known as the Iranian or Persian New Year, is a widely celebrated festival observed by various ethnic groups worldwide. Originating from Zoroastrian traditions, it follows the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar and typically falls on or around the spring equinox, approximately March 21st, on the Gregorian calendar. The significance of Nowruz dates back to Zoroastrianism, reflecting the cultural heritage of Iranian societies. However, it has been embraced by diverse communities for over 3,000 years across Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia. While originally rooted in religious practices, Nowruz has evolved into a predominantly secular holiday for many, celebrated by individuals of various faiths and backgrounds. As a marker of the spring equinox, Nowruz symbolizes the onset of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, signifying the moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and day and night become equal in length. Traditional Nowruz customs encompass a range of rituals, including fire and water ceremonies, ritual dances, exchanging gifts, reciting poetry, and employing symbolic objects. These customs vary among the diverse peoples and nations that observe the festival.
