It is not only home to amazing marine life, it also holds significant cultural and historical meaning to the Gullah/Geechee people. Valerie Cleland, a senior manager who advocates for policies that protect and restore our oceans at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), will explore why we must conserve Blake Plateau—for the marine life and people who rely on it—before industry can harm this special place.
