With easy-to-use mapping tools, classes such as literature; history; film and media; and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies are visualizing archives, telling spatial stories, creating engaging exhibits, contributing to crowdsourced projects, and developing geospatial datasets. This workshop will discuss the essentials of developing mapping assignments for humanities classrooms—from bite-size to final project. We will look at examples of mapping projects and break them down to understand the tools, skills, elements, and steps to mapping with your students.
